Nine Area Students Join Resolution Copper as Summer Interns

Our 2007 Summer Internship Program is under way, and we’ve welcomed nine new interns representing the areas of Superior, Globe-Miami, Gold Canyon, Tucson and Nogales, Arizona. Each of our 2007 interns is attending college, and studying for degrees including mechanical, mining and electrical engineering; animal sciences; applied science in psychology; and anthropology. Three of the nine are returning for a second summer internship at the company.

This impressive group of students will work at Resolution Copper in Superior, gaining real-world experience with our modern mining organization. Interns gain hands-on knowledge of company projects working side by side with the RCM workforce. For example, interns conduct baseline surveys, take part in fieldwork, assist with internal procedures, and present findings to company management.

These interns are an asset to our summer workforce, and it is our hope that their education, interests and skills development may lead some to become part of our future workforce. Joining Resolution Copper has already become a reality for one such intern, Erica Diaz-Gonzalez, who joined Resolution Copper Superior last year as an environmental specialist.

Resolution Copper extends a warm welcome to our 2007 summer interns: Ian Pitterle, Jenna Krohn, Senyssa Manriquez, Kieren Smyers, Angela Noon, Josh Stiles, Vicente Navarro, Hector Aparicio, and Amri Sinuhaji.
