Summer Attraction: Open House at Resolution Copper
All summer long, Resolution Copper is holding a series of open houses at our new corporate headquarters in Superior for community residents, business owners, local officials and other individuals and groups interested in the company’s activities, plans and progress. We’ve also hosted an event for Resolution Copper employees, contractors and their families—many of whom are from the local area.
We’re reaching out not only to those in Superior, but the surrounding towns of Kearny, Hayden, Winkelman, and Globe-Miami. Multiple events are being held so that we can focus on the issues and topics that interest specific groups. These informal meetings give attendees the chance to learn about project progress, discuss issues, and visit with Resolution Copper management and staff while they tour the newly renovated Verde Building—which is the former Magma Hospital, where many Superior natives were born.
Nearly 100 employees and contractors attended the first open house in May, and two June events included neighbors bordering our mine site, and residents of Top of the World. In addition to hearing from and talking with RCM President John Rickus and other company leaders, attendees learned more about specific operations at display booths. Topics covered included mine site reclamation and activities,
the purpose and status of the land exchange, and Resolution Copper community outreach efforts. One display that generated significant “buzz” showed contractor Cementation sinking a mine shaft for another company—a preview of what lies ahead for the Resolution Project! Open houses will continue throughout the summer, as part of our effort to reach out to and interact with our neighbors.
“It was a very informative evening and Resolution Copper put on a great display of the mine past and present. I feel their future operation could not only benefit the Town of Superior, but the state of Arizona as well.”
- Sandy Kastner,
Top of the World resident
“The open house events are wonderful, well-informed meetings and allow for plenty of time to talk to different RCM personnel.”
– Mike McKee,
Superior resident
