Safety First

Informed behaviors keep us safe

Safety depends on the awareness and interaction of all workers. Resolution Copper uses the following approaches to build awareness of safe behavior, both individually and collectively, at all levels of the organization:

  • Safety Shares - everyday discussions about safety experiences and how to improve workplace safety.
  • Safety Interaction - workers observe each other to identify sound practices and risky behaviors, hazards and situations. Discussion follows where employees reinforce the observed safe activities and identify better ways of controlling the hazards or at-risk behavior.
  • Critical task observations - critical tasks are observed against the standards in place to ensure they are understood, valid, reliable and followed.

We also confirm the effectiveness of these employee awareness processes through workplace condition and management system audits. Lessons learned are then applied as needed to our safety standards and behavior processes.
