Socio-Economic
How and Why We Contribute
Resolution Copper Mining views socio-economic investment as both a corporate responsibility and a practice that will support and benefit our business. Priorities include:
- An open, fair and mutually beneficial relationship with our extended workforce of employees and contractors, giving emphasis to local hire and sourcing whenever possible. We invest in our workforce by offering competitive compensation, including not only benefits but training and development to build a skilled workforce and company leaders.
- Pursuing fair and equitable procurement practices that help build long-term relationships and favor local suppliers from our host communities.
- Financial and human resource contributions to and partnerships with our host communities and nonprofit organizations that share our company's commitment to social responsibility, economic development and environmental stewardship. We direct our resources to areas where our stakeholders have identified priority, where there is a pressing community need, and where we believe we can have a meaningful impact. Our How we engage section and related chart provides detailed information on how we interact with partners.
- Our longer-term economic and fiscal contribution to society, including the added value we bring to local, regional and statewide economies. During 2008, an independent study determined the immense impact Resolution Copper will have if our mine is developed.
