Why we care

Care and concern for the environment is not only the right thing to do, it is fundamental to our business success. The many individuals and groups who follow the progress of our company have a right to know the steps we take to protect and preserve the natural resources upon which we all depend, including land, air, water and energy. Our willingness to communicate openly about our environmental record also affects stakeholder support for our company.

Our commitment to the environment extends not only to Resolution Copper employees but to contractors who work as part of our extended team. Contractors interested in working for our company must commit to a high standard of environmental performance and must participate in applicable training. For example, during 2008, we held an environmental forum attended by all major contractors during which we discussed operational safeguards to ensure the protection and preservation of the environment.
