Environmental impact studies and reports

Resolution Copper is currently completing the extensive baseline work needed to identify all potential environmental impacts of our mining operations. We will then determine how to maximize positive impact while minimizing negative effect. We openly state that our mining project will be subject to the completion of an Environmental Impact Statement, or an EIS, under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). Resolution Copper supports this process. The results of this work will help guide our operations in protecting the environment and will be made available to the public by 2011 under the present project schedule.

Baseline studies include a detailed analysis of all potential mining operation sites in order to examine a broad range of environmental and cultural factors. For example, we study water and air quality, determine if endangered species inhabit the areas, and discover if cultural artifacts are present and how best to protect them.
