Continuing its efforts to create social and economic benefits for local communities, Resolution Copper announced that 10 local high school students recently were presented scholarships valued at nearly $30,000. The students may use their scholarships to attend any college in Arizona.

This year’s recipients:

General Scholarship

  • Danielle Lopez, Superior High School
  • Bailee Sexton, Miami High School

Leadership Scholarship

  • Allison Martinez, Superior High School

Rickus Scholarship

  • Allison Martinez, Superior High School

Native American Scholarship

  • Christine Talgo, San Carlos Secondary School
  • Ryan Nelson, Blue Ridge High School
  • Maria Walker, Alchesay High School
  • Tia Griggs, Riverside Indian School

Resolution Copper will host a dinner reception for the students and their family members on August 17.

The scholarship program highlights Resolution Copper’s shared values to help advance economic development in the areas where it does business and build stronger communities in Arizona. Over the past 15 years, the company has provided 146 scholarships totaling more than $600,000 to area high school students.

“We are happy to support these outstanding students on their journey to acquire an education that will make a difference in their lives and their families lives for generations,” said Andrew Lye, project director, Resolution Copper. “Education is critical to the future of our state, and I’m excited to see what these young people continue to achieve.”
