The Superior Unified School District is proud to once again partner with Resolution Copper Mining Company to support the students and staff of the Superior Jr./Sr. High School and the JFK Elementary School. This partnership not only provides opportunities for students to explore science and technology but also provides instructional and planning support to our teachers. The relationship that we have developed over the last 10 years with RCC has not just benefitted our schools but our community as well.

Superior Unified School District to get $75,000 in STEM education funding

Students in the Superior School District will have greater access to science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM, education next school year as a result of a $75,000 grant from Resolution Copper.

The donation will help fund teacher trainings, the JFK Library at the elementary school and programs that students participate in such as the Beyond Textbooks program and the popular LEGO Robotics program during the 2015-16 school year.

“We are proud to support schools and education in the community,” said project director Andrew Taplin. “It’s these students who will be entering the workplace as the Resolution Copper mine develops, and we’re certain that many students will need strong STEM skills to succeed in the economy of the future.”

Resolution Copper has been sponsoring education programs for nearly 10 years and has donated more than $206,000 to the Superior Unified School District.
