Resolution Copper Corporate Giving Program

As part of Resolution Copper’s Social Investments, we offer a limited number of small grants to non-profit organizations with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and to programs that share our values and align with our commitment to the surrounding communities. We support programs that foster economic development and enhance quality of life. This includes programs that help create a diverse local business community and programs that help build a healthier and safer community.

We offer grants to non-profit organizations with a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. Programs we support must meet the needs of the communities in the areas where we operate.

We also consider in-kind donations to organizations that meet the giving criteria.

Applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis. Deadlines for submissions are:

  • January 1
  • April 1
  • July 1
  • October 1

Areas in which we focus our social investment:

Art and recreation: An activity, event or project that creates recreational opportunities, encourages participation in such opportunities, or develops constructive behaviour through sport, recreation and/or traditional and contemporary art forms.

Community: Activities that enrich the sense of integration and local identity. Likewise, community activities entail providing support to events, programs, or initiatives that improve community premises, create awareness, healthy life choices, facilitate social well-being, develops or demonstrates community pride.

Corporate/institutional activities: Activities related to business, policies and plans of RC (for example, events held by local business-oriented organizations, Native American organizations, environmental organizations, etc.), excluding trade association and business association memberships.

Cultural activities: support provided to cultural events or for cultural heritage recognition or preservation, as well as art, music, dance and literature, among others. Support for cultural activities does not include any action by RC which is otherwise required or necessary to comply with RC’s Community and Social Performance standard.

Economic growth: Investment in initiatives that spur economic sustainability through diversification, resiliency and regional collaboration.

Educational activities: An activity, event, project or supporting programs and initiatives that will encourage and/or enhance learning, achievement, education and skill set development and are aligned with the RC Education Strategy.

Environment: Programs that possess a strong link to environmental stewardship, education, or conservation and encourage partnership to address environmental concerns.
