Celebrating World Indigenous Peoples Day: Honoring Jacob Casoose’s Journey

As we celebrate World Indigenous Peoples Day, it’s important to recognize and honor the achievements and contributions of Indigenous individuals in our communities. At Resolution Copper, we’re proud to highlight the incredible journey of Jacob Casoose, a dedicated member of our team whose story inspires and uplifts us all.

Jacob Casoose is more than just a valued employee; he is a loving husband, devoted father, cherished brother, and a friend to many. As a proud member of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, Jacob understands the unique challenges Indigenous communities face in finding meaningful employment and opportunities. His journey with Resolution Copper began several years ago as an electrical apprentice, and today he has advanced to become a Shift Electrician within our Underground Maintenance team.

Jacob’s path is characterized by a deep passion for education and a unique ability to inspire people of all ages. His strong work ethic and unwavering determination have made him a role model not only for his colleagues but also for the local community. Jacob is committed to education and actively engages with youth to foster interest in STEM careers available at Resolution Copper and other mines in the area. One of his most notable contributions is the creation of a model headframe, a project designed to help students visualize the complex workings of the Hoist and Auxiliary Cage on the No. 10 shaft. This innovative project reflects Jacob’s exceptional talent and dedication to nurturing the next generation of engineers and technicians.

Jacob’s commitment to education and his brilliant mind are matched only by his warm-hearted spirit. He is a daily inspiration to all of us at Resolution Copper, exemplifying the power of determination, community spirit, and a deep love for learning. His efforts not only pave the way for future generations but also reinforce the importance of Indigenous representation in the mining industry.

On this World Indigenous Peoples Day, we celebrate Jacob’s journey and acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the many Indigenous individuals like him who enrich not just our team but our communities and industries. We are grateful for the efforts of all of our Indigenous employees at Resolution Copper who make a positive impact every day. Their diverse perspectives and talents strengthen our team, and we honor their role in helping us build a brighter future together in the Copper Triangle.
