Honoring Our Veterans: From Serving Our Country to Powering Its Future

At Resolution Copper, we’re proud to honor the veterans on our team who’ve made the journey from military service to the mining industry. Their dedication to serving our country has seamlessly transitioned into a commitment to powering its future, as they now help provide the copper essential to our daily lives.

Veterans bring with them a unique set of skills—leadership, resilience, and teamwork—that are invaluable to our mission. Whether managing complex projects, problem-solving on the fly, or leading teams underground, the lessons they’ve learned in the armed forces shine through in the work they do every day.

This Veterans Day, we’re highlighting a few of the inspiring stories from our veteran team members. Each brings a special perspective to their work, shaped by their service, and we’re honored to have them with us.

Wendy S. served eight years in the U.S. Navy, inspired by career opportunities and a desire to develop self-reliance. She reflects, “The Navy taught me the importance of team building, responsibility, and discipline—skills I use every day here at Resolution Copper.” Today, Wendy brings mechanical knowledge and a passion for teamwork to our mining operations.

Marisa E., an active Army Reservist, joined to be part of something bigger than herself. “My time in the Army has given me confidence and a sense of pride,” Marisa shares. Pursuing a degree in Construction Management, she’s excited to explore a future in mining, drawing on her skills in organization and structure.

John “Yuma” Whitcomb grew up in a military family and joined the Army for four years. He says, “The Army taught me leadership and the importance of initiative, which I bring to my role here every day.” Drawn to the opportunities in mining, Yuma continues to apply the discipline and respect instilled in him through military service.

To all our veterans, thank you for your dedication, both past and present. We’re stronger because of you.
