Building Bridges: Leslie Burnette’s Commitment to Honoring Tradition and Community at Resolution Copper
At Resolution Copper, we understand the importance of fostering strong relationships with the communities we work alongside. Leslie Burnette, our Senior Tribal Community Advisor, exemplifies this commitment in her role. A proud member of the San Carlos Apache Tribe, Leslie’s family has a rich history in mining, with both her father and grandfather paving the way. Now, Leslie continues their legacy by advocating for Native communities and ensuring that their voices are not only heard but respected.
Leslie is focused on building trust and strengthening relationships between Resolution Copper and the 11 Native American tribes in Arizona. “This role is about much more than mining,” Leslie says. “It’s about ensuring that our communities thrive and that the next generation has the resources and opportunities they need to succeed.”
With a deep passion for giving back, Leslie works on projects that directly benefit tribal communities. Resolution Copper has supported initiatives like creating basketball courts, renovating parks, and providing STEM education for tribal youth. As Leslie works to dispel misconceptions about mining, she continues to build bridges, ensuring that Resolution Copper honors the traditions and values of the communities we work with.
