Mother. Daughter. Miners. A Legacy Built in Superior.

At Resolution Copper, mining isn’t just about the rock we move, it’s about the people who move it. And this Mother’s Day, we’re proud to spotlight two of those people: Jessica and Sabrina Castillo. A mother-daughter duo with deep roots in Superior, Arizona, these two powerhouse women are proving that mining, family, and community can go hand in hand – hard hats and all.

Working side by side at the project, Jessica and Sabrina represent more than two generations in the workforce—they represent a legacy built on resilience, strength, and a fierce love for their hometown.

Mining is in Their Blood
For Jessica, the path to Resolution Copper was paved by a family history steeped in mining. “Mining is in our blood,” she says. “This mine has provided for our families in so many ways—from Magma, to BHP, and now Resolution. It’s given us the opportunity to work local and give back to our community.”

Sabrina echoes that sentiment. “Growing up in Superior, I always knew I wanted to stay close to home. My parents and grandparents worked in mining, and now I get to do the same—while staying present in my children’s lives. That means the world to me.”

Their connection to the land and the people here runs deep. And being able to work in the town where they were raised isn’t something they take for granted. As Jessica puts it simply: “God is good. He gave us this opportunity to work together and be part of something special.”

Work Hard. Laugh Harder.
Of course, when you work with your mom—or your daughter—you’re bound to have a few funny moments. Just ask Sabrina. “I love it,” she says with a smile. “I guess growing up doesn’t always mean your parents get to get rid of you.” Their coworkers know they share more than DNA, they share a strong work ethic and a signature take-charge attitude. “She is definitely her mother’s daughter,” Jessica laughs.

Snacks, Shifts & Strength
So, who brings the snacks and who shows up early? According to Sabrina: “That would be me for showing up early for a shift, but Mom definitely brings the snacks. Healthy ones, of course.”

Jessica adds with a grin: “I show up on time. But yes, if snacks are involved, I’m your girl.”

But behind the jokes and inside stories is something bigger, a mother-daughter team who are helping shape the culture of Resolution Copper. A culture rooted in care, family, and a commitment to doing meaningful work in the community they love.

“Resolution is truly family-oriented,” says Jessica. “They care about us and our families, and that shows in everything they do.”

Legacy in the Making
Jessica and Sabrina aren’t just part of the project. They’re part of the story we’re building here – one shift, one act of service, one shared moment at a time. From volunteer work in town to mentoring others on-site, their contributions go far beyond the day-to-day. They are a living, breathing example of what legacy truly means: living, working, and growing together in the place they call home.

As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we honor all the strong women—mothers, daughters, mentors, and leaders—who help power our team and shape the future of mining. From Jessica and Sabrina to so many others across our site, these are the stories that remind us: mining is about people, purpose, and the communities we build together.

From all of us at Resolution Copper, Happy Mother’s Day!
