Q3 2026 Scorecard: A Look at the Work Behind the Numbers
From local jobs and project spending to water management and community partnerships, here’s a look at what has been happening at Resolution Copper.
A lot of the work happening isn’t always visible from outside the mine site. Some of it takes place nearly 7,000 feet underground and other parts happen in local classrooms, small businesses and communities across Arizona. Our third-quarter scorecard offers a look at that work, where project dollars are being spent, how we’re managing water and the ways our employees and community partners are staying involved.
Here’s what the numbers show.
Making safety part of every shift
During the third quarter, our team recorded zero lost time injuries and zero medical treatment cases. That’s an important result for a project where crews work with heavy equipment, electrical systems and challenging conditions on the surface and underground. Much of the work involves routine inspections, equipment maintenance, safety checks and planning before a job begins. It’s work that doesn’t always make headlines, but it’s essential to keeping people safe.
Most of our workforce calls Arizona home
Of the 446 people that work at the Resolution Copper project, 89% are Arizona-based.
Many live in Superior, Kearny, Miami, Globe, San Carlos and other nearby communities. These are the people maintaining equipment, managing water systems, supporting underground operations and keeping the project running day to day.
Where project dollars are going
Through September, Resolution Copper spent approximately $176.6 million on project activities. Of that amount, $49.7 million, or 28%, was spent within 40 miles of the project. That spending supports a range of goods and services needed to operate and maintain the site, from specialized equipment and technical services to everyday supplies.
Managing water and monitoring the environment
Water management is a major part of operating a deep underground project.
Groundwater naturally enters the underground workings and must be pumped to the surface so crews can safely access and maintain the mine. Rather than simply disposing of that water, Resolution Copper treats it and provides it for agricultural use. Through the third quarter, 282 million gallons of water had been recycled for agricultural use in 2026.
The project also spent approximately over $1million on environmental protection and monitoring through September. That work includes ongoing environmental monitoring and activities that help the team understand and manage conditions around the project. Our environmental team also participates in community monitoring discussions, trail cleanups and mentoring opportunities for interns interested in environmental careers.
Community investment
Through September, Resolution Copper invested $3.27 million across 90 community investments supporting education, community services, recreation and local economic development. Some of that support goes toward programs people may already know.
- At Superior Unified School District, multi-year funding supports teachers, classroom technology, enrichment opportunities and safety improvements.
- At Globe High School, funding helps students build skills through robotics.
- The University of Arizona’s CU at the Mine Teacher Academy gives educators opportunities to learn more about mining and bring that knowledge back to their classrooms.
- Other investments support organizations such as Gila House, which provides domestic violence shelter services, and Legends of Superior Trails, which works to maintain and promote local trails.
- At Boyce Thompson Arboretum, multi-year support includes educational programming and a new Children’s Garden.
These are all different types of projects, but they share something important: they’re responding to needs and priorities identified within our communities.
Showing up and staying involved
Community involvement isn’t limited to financial contributions. This quarter over 556 community engagements and 810 volunteer hours were recorded. That includes employees taking time to participate in local activities, support community organizations and work alongside neighbors, enriching the community we live and work in.
A closer look at the numbers
The Q3 Scorecard brings these results together in one place, including our safety performance, workforce, project spending, environmental activities and community involvement. We publish these updates to give our neighbors a clearer picture of what’s happening at Resolution Copper and how the project connects to the surrounding communities.
