Smarter Stewardship: Setting a New Standard for Land and Water Use
At Resolution Copper, mining is only part of the story. We are equally committed to protecting the land and water that sustain our operations and our communities.

Mining is deeply rooted in Arizona’s Copper Triangle—and it’s driving the region’s next chapter. Local leaders across Superior, Miami, and Kearny are voicing their strong support for the Resolution Copper project.
When people talk about Arizona’s economic future, Resolution Copper is part of that conversation. This project isn’t just about mining. It’s about building opportunities. It’s about putting Arizona’s people, resources, and innovation to work in a way that delivers real, lasting impact.
At Resolution Copper, we’re not just building a mine. We’re investing in people and lifelong careers. Carlos’ mining journey started just a few miles from where he works today. A 2006 graduate of Superior High School, he grew up watching the legacy of mining shape his hometown. He didn’t wait long to jump in by 2007, he was underground, working on Shaft #9 with Cementation.
We are pleased that the Ninth Circuit’s decision will stand. The Resolution Copper mine is vital to securing America’s energy future, infrastructure needs, and national defense with a domestic supply of copper and other critical minerals.
In Arizona, mining isn’t just part of the past. It’s the backbone of the present and the promise of the future. For more than 100 years, copper has helped shape this state. Since 1910, Arizona has led the nation in copper production. From the red rock cliffs of the Copper Triangle to the machinery that hums deep underground, the industry has powered homes, built cities, and sparked innovation across generations.
This Economic Development Week, we’re celebrating the partnerships, investments, and milestones that are helping the Copper Triangle thrive. Since 2019, we’ve invested more than $8.9 million into projects that drive long-term growth — from workforce programs and school upgrades to trail revitalization, tourism boosts, and business development.
At Resolution Copper, we’ve reached a major milestone: over $2 billion invested in developing and permitting one of the most important copper projects in the United States. This number tells a bigger story — one of progress, partnerships, and purpose.
At Resolution Copper, mining isn’t just about the rock we move, it’s about the people who move it. And this Mother’s Day, we’re proud to spotlight two of those people: Jessica and Sabrina Castillo. A mother-daughter duo with deep roots in Superior, Arizona, these two powerhouse women are proving that mining, family, and community can go hand in hand – hard hats and all.
At Resolution Copper, mining isn’t just about extracting a resource—it’s about people. It’s about hometown pride, career growth, environmental stewardship, and creating opportunities right here in the Copper Triangle.
